Our Story

Founded in 2006 with the goal of improving the effectiveness of investor relations through innovative, forward-thinking website solutions, the Q4 team designed an alternative approach to IR websites that put storytelling first and emphasized intuitive corporate reporting. By building a better, more dynamic platform, companies were now able to deploy what we call “websites without compromise”.

As our client base expanded, so too has our product offering. Over the years, we’ve carefully curated a suite of IR products geared to improve the lives of our clients and empower them to be leaders in IR. In 2015, acquired Oxford Intelligence Partners, a company that specialized in capital markets intelligence and customized analytics to IR professionals. With the addition of capital market intelligence as a core offering, Q4 now provides our clients both dynamic outbound channels to the marketplace and a unique inbound channel that delivers critical capital markets intelligence and customized analytics.

With the vision to become the dominant global capital markets platform that connects companies and investors, Q4 introduced Q4 Desktop to the market in 2016. As a result, our clients enjoy the industry’s first, fully­ integrated investor relations platform, which integrates communications tools, surveillance and analytics into a fully featured IR workflow and CRM application.

Darrell Heaps , , , Founder & CEO

Darrell Heaps is a serial entrepreneur and has spent his career building software companies from small to large. As the CEO of Q4 Inc. Darrell has led the company’s vision and unique marketing and sales strategy to help Q4 become a recognized leader in the IR space. Darrell together with the global Q4 team are revolutionizing the IR space by delivering advanced technology solutions to help IROs manage, analyze and improve their engagement with the capital markets. On a personal front, Darrell is an avid cyclist and mountain biker and lives in Toronto with his wife and is a proud father of two children. Darrell studied Business and Computer Science at York University.

Stephen Devito , , , CFO

As Q4’s CFO, Stephen is responsible for assisting the CEO and all members of the leadership team to develop, communicate, and execute on the operational and strategic plan. Prior to joining Q4, Stephen spent eight years as CFO of Marketwired concluding his time there by leading the successful sale of the company to Nasdaq in 2016. At Marketwired Stephen was also instrumental in the acquisition and growth of Sysomos, a leading social media listening and engagement SaaS based platform, which saw revenue growth of over 1000% from acquisition in 2010 through 2014. Before Marketwired, Stephen was CFO of Second Cup where he led the company through an IPO in 2004. Stephen brings over two decades of financial, operational and strategic planning experience in both private and public companies and has led companies through significant growth and change. Stephen is a designated CPA, CA with the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.

Jason Brausewetter , , , SVP, Global Head Of Sales

Jason joined Q4 in 2014 and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the global sales force and business development team. In addition he is closely involved with strategy, marketing and product development. Jason is passionate about delivering superior capital markets intelligence and bridging the gap between Corporate and the Buy- and Sell-side.

Jason has spent 20 years on and around Wall Street. Prior to Q4, Jason was VP, Head of Sales for a Silicon Valley start-up, LOYAL3 and spent a good bulk of his career at NASDAQ OMX as VP, Head of Global Sales where he helped build and scale their Corporate Solutions enterprise. Earlier Jason was an Institutional Sales Trader for Schwab Capital Markets and a Financial Advisor for Morgan Stanley. FINRA and NFA licenses obtained Series 7, 31,55, 63 and 65.

Adam Frederick , , , SVP, Intelligence

Adam is an experienced capital markets intelligence professional with 17 years of service in the industry. In his role as Senior Vice President of Intelligence at Q4, Adam is responsible for directing the over-all vision and growth of Q4’s Intelligence Division, which provides intelligence solutions for public companies, including: stock surveillance, capital markets intelligence, trading analytics, activist watch, options intelligence, desktop management solutions, and more.

Prior to joining Q4, Adam was CEO & Co-founder of Oxford Intelligence Partners, a Capital Markets Intelligence firm which was acquired by Q4 in 2015. Previous to Oxford, Adam spent 5 years as the Managing Director of NASDAQ’s Corporate Solutions Group, and before that was a Partner at Bloom Partners. Adam began his career in IR services at Thomson Financial in 1999. He has also obtained the Series 7, 52 and 63 licenses. Adam graduated with a BS in Finance from Miami University, Oxford, OH.

Matt Twydell , , , SVP, Communications

As Senior VP, Communications, Matt is in charge of leading every aspect of Q4’s communication clientele experience, from the service strategy to managing Q4’s international Implementations, Project Management, Client Services and Support teams. Previously Matt served as Sr. Account Director (Digital) at Capital C for six years. He led strategy, planning, execution and engagement for all customer facing web properties and campaigns, tool development, social media and CRM for both the Nissan and Infiniti brands. Matt graduated with a BA in Mass Communications and English from York University.

Dorothy Arturi , , , VP, Human Resources

As VP of Human Resources, Dorothy is responsible for leading Q4’s global talent and organizational design strategy in support of the overall business objectives. With an entrepreneurial style, and a passion for building world-class cultures, Dorothy brings a wealth of experience in developing, growing and scaling human resource practices. Prior to joining Q4, Dorothy was VP HR for Marketwired, a global social communications and press release company, responsible for talent acquisition, learning and development, employee engagement, and total rewards. Dorothy was instrumental in leading the company through its sale and transition to Nasdaq in 2016. Prior to Marketwired, Dorothy held various progressive leadership roles across several industries including alcohol beverage, retail, nutraceuticals and manufacturing. Dorothy received her Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resources from Ryerson University and is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).

Mark Wicks , , , SVP, Sales Operations

As Senior VP Operations at Q4, Mark is involved in process automation, systems integration, developing sales opportunities, and being involved in strategic negotiations with clients, partners, and vendors. Previously, Mark served as President at Magnum Copy Centres Inc., a full service digital print shop and design house of which he was a founding partner.

Taryn Shulman , , , VP, Marketing

As VP of Marketing, Taryn is responsible for leading the company’s overall global marketing strategy, including brand management, corporate communications, customer acquisition and retention.

With over 10 years of leading B2B marketing strategies in niche markets Taryn has a passion for customer-centric problem solving and has the unique ability to communicate a brand’s UVP, bringing its story to life at every touch-point along the customer journey.

Prior to joining Q4, Taryn held progressive senior marketing roles at GuestLogix, Ameresco and the Bank of Montreal.

Alexandru Corotchi , , , VP, Technology

As Vice President of Technology, Alexandru oversees the architecture and implementation of all systems that the organization uses, as well as the design and development of unique software applications, defining Q4 as a leader in IR solutions. He is responsible for the Company’s long-term technology roadmap, as well as driving innovation across the company, while making sure of aligning security development efforts across the business. Alexandru holds a master's degree in Systems and Networks of Optoelectronic Communications from Technical University of Moldova.
