SlideShare, the world’s largest community for sharing business
presentations and PDFs today announced they have partnered with Q4 Web
Systems (Q4), a leading provider of software for investor relations (IR)
websites to help bring social media to investor relations.
The collaboration will offer public companies enhanced best practice
capabilities for their IR websites using SlideShare’s innovative web
platform for displaying and sharing presentations and PDFs combined with
Q4’s market leading IR website platform.
A majority of companies are currently using their IR website as a filing
cabinet in which they house PDFs of relevant documents such as press
releases and presentations. In light of the current market conditions,
traditional means of communicating with the market is not enough and
companies are looking for ways to increase awareness and build better
relationships with current and potential shareholders. The partnership
between SlideShare and Q4 provides an effective tool set that uses
existing content on IR websites that leverages social media and lets
companies reach SlideShare’s 18 million monthly visitors in addition to
visitors to their websites.
“Q4 is an innovative company that provides leading edge investor tools
and social media sharing capabilities and we are excited to be
partnering with them,” said Rashmi Sinha, SlideShare’s Cofounder and
CEO. “We think it makes a lot of sense for public companies to use
social media for investor relations and our partnership with Q4 will
bring our social presentations along with millions of viewers to the
world of investor relations websites.”
Companies using the Q4 web platform will be able to easily embed
SlideShare presentations into any area of their IR websites and publish
directly to both their IR website and SlideShare.com. Additionally,
SlideShare is launching a separate Investor
Relations category. Companies will also have the opportunity to
promote their investor relations presentations to SlideShare’s 18
million visitors in a targeted manner.
“The current economic climate has made it more difficult than ever for
companies to raise awareness and connect with stakeholders, which means
using traditional channels is not enough anymore. Social media is being
adopted throughout the world in record numbers and companies need to get
in tune with the mediums people are using or they will be left behind,”
said Darrell Heaps, President and CEO of Q4. “SlideShare is one of the
best ways to package your investor presentation making it easy to view,
share and disseminate across the web to millions of retail and
institutional investors.”
SlideShare and Q4 are committed to investor relations and are currently
in discussions regarding a number of other innovative enhancements to
the service.
