Feedback on the Conference

Investor Relations Officers from around the world attended the NIRI annual conference in Orlando, Florida from June 3-6. Feedback from registrants showed that fulfilling compliance obligations, while meeting investors’ demand for timely communication, is a challenge common to all IROs.

Although North America, particularly the United States, is the leader in capital market compliance, many other countries have or are in the process of strengthening their securities legislation.

Of the three key benefits Q4 products offer --greater efficiency, reduced compliance risk and increased internal control – greater efficiency was the ‘must-have’ benefit. IROs told us they want – in fact, need -- greater efficiency and effectiveness in meeting their onerous compliance requirements. Q4 solutions address IROs’ needs by automating many of the labor-intensive, potentially error-prone tasks, associated with compliance. NIRI attendees showed considerable interest in the Q4 suite of disclosure management products.

Delegates cited a number of reasons for attending the conference: education, particularly updates on legislation; networking with peers; and exposure to the latest in investor relations products and services. Interestingly, all these reasons equally influence NIRI conference attendance.

We were pleased to learn that most registrants love their jobs, especially those who work for CEOs who value the IR role. IROs told us much of their job satisfaction stems from finding IR interesting, ever changing and requiring/offering them opportunities for continuous learning.

The Q4 team found the conference engaging and well planned. As exhibitors, we were delighted with the steady stream of traffic through the Exhibitor Hall and the interest in our products.
